For years (nearly 8) we gave away one of the most valuable aspects of our Financial Planning process - the Goal Planning part - for FREE! If I am totally honest it was because we were still worried that we needed to demonstrate so much "VALUE" with our prospective clients, by giving this part away for free... surely then our prospects would become clients after they saw how awesome we were at what we did for our other clients just like them.
The problem was all we were doing was letting people in who were never going to pay anyway... because everyone that went on to become clients, said (when we asked them later on) that they would have paid a fee for the Goal Planning Session - because it was just the way things work these days... you pay for value up front.
So after 8 years we finally decided to start charging for our Goal Planning Session, and what we've seen is a reduction in tyre kickers, and a higher conversion rate (almost 95% for GPS to Full Client).
